WTKG (1230AM) is a news/talk-formatted radio station licensed to Grand Rapids, Michigan. The station is owned by Clear Channel Communications.

Progressive talk programmingEdit

The station carries a of conservative, liberal and nonpartisan talk. The station carries Thom Hartmann, who was originally from Grand Rapids, as well as Bill Press and Ed Schultz.

HistoryEdit

WTKG first began broadcasting under the WION call sign. Previous to adopting the current calls and format in 1997, the station played country under the WJEF (the station on which radio Hall of Famer Wally Phillips started his career) and WCUZ calls.

WTKG is an affiliate of the Western Michigan University "Broncos Radio Network" and carries all of the Broncos football and men's basketball games.
